Floods in Nepal
Hundreds of houses at squatters’ settlements in Gairigaun, Kathmandu became waterlogged when water of swollen Bagmati River entered on Sunday night. The swollen river swept away properties of over 60 houses in the area.
The river’s water level rose due to incessant rainfall and entered the settlement at around 12 am midnight after the diversion constructed at Tinkune by Valley Development Authority was blocked by garbage.
