Message from RamHari Khadka – December 2023: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Indreni Children\u2019s Home is a non-profit organization established on 22nd September 2008 to support underprivileged Nepali children, setup by Nepali people who come from similar backgrounds. Indreni is just few years old, even though it was imagined a long time ago. As a child, I was educated in Rokpa, another amazing non-profit organization in Kathmandu. They gave me the tools and safe environment to stay and to be educated from. My dream was to start my own organization to help more children and to bring a change to Nepali society by providing poor and underprivileged children with good shelter, food and education. The vision was also to provide the children with high degree of parental care and discipline, in a family environment, irrespective of a child\u2019s birth, cast, sex, religion, background and nationality. The goal of Indreni is to be a catalyst to impact Nepali society and bring change to the minds of its people, nation and the ultimately the world. With this, we envisage a better society and dignified lives for all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Indreni children\u2019s home has now 48 children from various districts of Nepal who were in desperate need of help. Indreni is fully dedicated to help these children overcome all the problems seen and found when we visited their villages, which often involves many days journey by foot. Indreni has reintegrated 43 children back to their family after providing them with a safe place to live and be educated. Many of them are either doing university degrees or working, sustaining their lives by earning themselves. The management team of Indreni decided many years ago, that the best thing for the children was to reintegrate them back to their families or relatives after finishing intermediate level exams. We have currently 48 children Inside the Indreni Children\u2019s Home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indreni Graduates Update<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

43 students have already graduated from Indreni since 2008. Here’s a list of each Indreni graduate and where they are now: <\/p>\n\n\n\n


Rabin Khadka: teaching in Indreni’s school (Shree Shwet Barahi) and has been promoted multiple times.

Swastani mahat: studying Hotel Management in Austrilia.
Prakash Chettri: teaching in Simthali, where we support local village projects.
Milan tamang: teaching in Simthali school.
Ganesh mahat: working in Shree Shwet Barahi school.
Yubraj Chettri: working in Shree Shwet Barahi school.
Bikaram tamang: working, got married, has a child, living in Kathmandu.
Bishnu Thapa magar: working in and living in Taiwan.
Manila KC: working in Finance company in Kathmandu.
Madan Khadka: working in IT company in Kathmandu.
Ramesh magar: working as a tattoo artist in Kathmandu
Srijina Khadka: married has a daughter, living in Nepal.

Rupesh sunwar: working in packing Tea in Nepal.

Indreni Ireland Visit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n


We recently celebrated our national holidays Dashain and Tihar for a month and the children have just returned to school. In November, we had a visit from a group of volunteers from Indreni Ireland. They visited the school here in Kathmandu and Simthali well as painted the school desks and benches and met all the children and staff. They also went shopping with the children for new clothes and school supplies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had visit from Germany, our friends and donors Maren and her assistant Clarissa. They handed over the school uniform, shoes, hat socks for 3 schools children and agreed to help fund Kalidevi school, one of our rural school projects. They also handed over the school uniform, shoes, hat socks etc and made library in Banadevi school as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shree Shwet Barahi School Project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Shree Shwet Barahi School was established in 2048 B.S (1991 in the Western Calendar). This is one of the oldest schools in this area. This school is named after a famous temple Shwet Sarahi Lord Ganesh temple. This is one of the projects of Indreni which is running smoothly and progressing. We own a 57.5% share in this project. Funds from Taiwan and Indreni Ireland have contributed to help us purchase ownership of a good school building, set up an educational infrastructure and train teachers. This has insured that Indreni children are getting quality education. The new school building school is not yet finished. Slowly we are moving children to this new school. Now we have 500 students in our school. They are from ages 3-18 years old. This is one of the most exciting projects for me because is promises to make indreni even more financially sustainable in long term. 1000+ students will eventually be fee-paying attendees of the school, providing funding for the Indreni homes and other projects. In our school, there are 25 teachers, 13 female and 12 male teachers. Our primary classes are running from the Montessori model. This year, the school management committee has decided to start a grading system in order to delineate classes and provide more specific education for children with more needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Helping to Improve farmers lives in rural villages <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Funding from Ireland has supported 100 of women\u2019s group through agricultural cooperatives which was provided much-needed support to uplift rural communities. These projects help provide nutritious food security, support in traditional and modern agriculture, ultimately for a better economic income for these villagers. We provide them seeds for cash crops and livestock including goats, buffalo, chickens. This allows local farmers a means of economic generation and allows them to plant fruit and nuts trees and other wild trees to improve the environment and reforestation. We also provide training for the farmers, introducing them to new methods of producing high-value crops, increasing the fertility of land and setting up micro loan system through our various cooperatives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
